Suggested local plan
Choose from the workshop’s available frames, fabrics and colours and learn the tool rules. Follow the making steps approved for your session, which may use a prepared frame. Finish by checking the piece and discussing care, packing and any permission to take it home.
Make it your own
Request preferred fabric colours and size from current choices. Compare a shorter fabric-covering activity with a fuller construction session where offered. Children work alongside adults only under the workshop’s age and supervision rules.
Agree the making process
Some workshops may use prepared frames while others demonstrate more construction steps. Ask what you will actually do, the tools involved and how much help is provided before choosing a session.
Clarify the finished piece
Do not assume a lantern is included to take home. Confirm ownership of the finished item, folding or packing advice, any extra materials charge and transport restrictions with the maker. A lantern-floating activity is a different service.

The number of finished pieces, materials and packing fees must be stated in the confirmation. River lantern floating and an Old Town tour are separate activities.
